4th Annual Do Good Challenge Begins

The Do Good Challenge returns to the University of Maryland this week for the fourth year. This innovative prize competition inspires Terps to make the greatest social impact they can for their favorite cause. Students team up to volunteer, fundraise, promote awareness, or advance their own social enterprise during an eight-week period. Any undergraduate or graduate student can enter, either as an individual or with a group.

Thanks to a collaboration between the Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy and the Center for Social Value Creation at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, the Do Good Challenge is broken up into two tracks - one for projects and one for ventures. Both tracks will compete in the Do Good Challenge from February 9th to April 6th and will be judged seperately during the Do Good Challenge Finals event in late April.

During the finals, the top three projects and ventures will pitch their success during the Challenge to a live audience and panel of high-profile judges. The judges will decide which project and venture is awarded $5,000 and the audience will decide which project or venture wins ths $2,500 People's Choice Award. Previous Do Good Challenge winners include The Food Recovery Network, Argentine Terps, Students Helping Honduras and justlikeyou.org.
