Smith CIBER Welcomes Invest Hong Kong

On August 31, 2015 the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) at the University of Maryland's Robert H Smith School of business, hosted two business leaders and experts on Hong Kong for a lively lunch discussion with students, professors and local business leaders. Steve Barclay, a native of Hong Kong and director of the Hong Kong Economics and Trade Office in New York City, shared with participants the story of Hong Kong's rise from a humble fishing port in the early 1900s to become one of the economic centers of the world today. Dr. Kelley Jones, who is the head of investment promotion for Invest Hong Kong, continued this discussion; yet, focused on the business-friendly environment of Hong Kong and why businesses around the world are relocating to it.

Hosted by CIBER, the event was designed to bridge a connection between the Hong Kong business world and the Smith community.
