Smith Commencement Set for Dec. 22

On Sunday, Dec. 22, at Cole Field House on the campus of the University of Maryland at College Park, the class of December 2013 will graduate from the Robert H. Smith School of Business. 

This Smith School commencement, starting 1 p.m., involves 180 undergraduates, 450 MBA and MS students, and three PhDs, who will receive their diplomas upon the completion of their degrees. 

Commencement speakers include undergraduate Alaina Rothstein and graduate Andy Cooney.

Rothstein will graduate as a double major in supply chain management and operations management with a Bachelor of Science degree. Originally from the Chicagoland area, Rothstein interned at Amazon.com in the summer of 2013 and served as president of the Supply Chain Management Society at Smith. Upon graduation, she will join Nestlé as a sourcing specialist. 

Cooney is an MBA and Master’s in Finance dual-degree graduate from Rockville, Md. A Maryland native and lifelong Terp fan, Cooney received a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Network and Systems Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology. He works at Logistics Management Institute in McLean, Va.
