Smith Strengths Highlighted in Economist EMBA Rankings

Already highly ranked by the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg Businessweek, the executive MBA program at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business is 26th in the Economist's inaugural EMBA world rankings. Among U.S. programs, the Smith School is 13th.

Further broken down, Smith’s ranking includes #4 for quality of faculty, #8 for career progression, #14 for quality of students and #19 for program quality and personal development/educational experience.

The standout ranking for faculty continues the recognition of Smith's research faculty--recently #5 in the Financial Times global EMBA rankings--as among the world's best.

“These survey results further validate the growth of our program,” said Greg Hanifee, assistant dean of executive programs at the Smith School. "The Smith School offers the highest ranked Executive MBA program in the Baltimore-Washington region and the ranking is a true testament to the impactful design of our program, the excellence delivered by our staff and the strength of the school’s faculty. Our goal remains to provide real-world leadership development built on cutting-edge research that delivers exceptional return for our students.”

The Economist based its rankings on personal development (e.g., student diversity and faculty and program quality) and career development (e.g., post-graduation salary expectations and networking opportunities). The results are drawn from student-reported figures, student ratings and school-provided data.
