Summer Internship Program – Australia 2015

Summer Internship Program – Australia 2015

While interning “Down Under” in Melbourne, Australia, Sam Haugrud, a senior marketing major at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business, celebrated the 4th of July with workplace mentors at NEAS. He is shown in this picture taking time away from his IT-based project work for NEAS to enjoy some all-American sweets like Milk Duds, Hershey Kisses and marshmallows. NEAS is a global leader in quality assurance for the English language teaching (ELT) sector. Haugrud's eight-week position there is part of Smith’s for-credit global summer internship program.

He and 13 other undergraduates are part of a 10-week program led by Mary Harms, associate clinical professor of marketing.  Some of the other companies that Smith students are interning at include: Sony, Nielsen, Emerson, CBS Interactive, and 3M-Commercial Solutions.
