Dean Frank Talks Business & Football on Gator Bowl Webcast

Howard Frank, dean of the Robert H. Smith School of Business, appeared as a guest on FridgeTV.com during the Gator Bowl festivities in Jacksonville, Florida. The dean's interview was Webcast on Wednesday, December 31, the evening before the Maryland Terrapins took on West Virginia in the Gator Bowl. The segment is archived on FridgeTV.com.

FridgeTV.com is a new Internet television channel that features live and archived behind-the-scenes content of the University of Maryland Terrapins football program under Coach Ralph "The Fridge" Friedgen. It was developed by former NFL and University of Maryland kicker Jess Atkinson, who graduated from the Smith School in 1985 as a general business major.

"FridgeTV.com is a convergence of my business school and football experience," says Atkinson. "People get excited about the sports part of it, but I especially enjoy the entrepreneurship and business part of the venture."

Atkinson interviewed dean Frank during the New Year's Eve Webcast, which was broadcast from Jacksonville, the site of the Gator Bowl. Atkinson and Frank talked about the parallels between leading a corporation as a CEO, and leading a football team as a head coach, as The Fridge does. The interview is archived on the FridgeTV.com Web site. Previously taped segments with Dean Frank will also be archived on the site as part of the "Real Terps: The Show, Gator Bowl Week" feature.
