Marketing managers from 3 global companies came together at the Robert H. Smith School of Business to take part in the first Professional Services Leadership Initiative (PSLI) organized by the Center for Excellence in Service and the Office of Executive Programs at Smith.
Randstad, the global staffing company had representatives from New Zealand and Japan in addition to Europe and North America. Commercial real estate company Jones Lang LaSalle and investment company T. Rowe Price were also part of the program.
As part of their studies, the group enjoyed a private tour of the U.S. Capitol in the company of former Congressman Jim Moody. Topics explored in class included Marketing Business Models, Internet marketing, Data analytics, partnering with agencies and sales teams, and customer experience. The group also completed Action Learning Projects (ALPS) applying their new learning to real problems and challenges in each of their companies.
Frans Cornelis, CMO of Randstad was one of the senior-level executives who traveled to Smith to watch the ALP presentations. "We will definitely operationalize these projects" he told the group.
Smith's Center for Excellence in Service has a worldwide reputation for leadership in professional services marketing. The program was designed by Dr. Janet Wagner and adjunct professor Suzanne Lowe.
