Smith Team in Finals of U.S. Chamber Foundation’s Inaugural MBA Case Competition

A team of MBA students from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business will compete in the final round of the U.S. Chamber Foundation’s Inaugural MBA Case Competition, in partnership with FedEx Freight, on Nov. 3, 2016, in Washington, D.C. The competition is designed to be a forum for MBA students to explore the connection between business success and corporate social responsibility. The four finalists were selected from 34 teams from 12 universities. Winners will receive national recognition and a share of prize money. The finalists are:

Orientation Program, Northrop Grumman Case Competition Set MBAs Up For Success

Specialty Masters Students Compete in Case Competition

On November 13, 2015, the Smith School's specialty masters students participated in a case competition in Van Munching Hall. The event was hosted by the Office of Career Services in collaboration with lead faculty judge Barney Corwin, Associate Clinical Professor & Senior Fellow, CHIDS.

Smith Team Places Second in OSU MBA Case Competition

A team of first-year MBA students from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business traveled to Columbus, Ohio, last week for the 23rd Ohio State University Fisher Invitational Case Competition. Expectations for Maryland were high and the Smith team did not disappoint, coming in second place for the second year in a row.

Smith Undergrads Win Marketing Summit

A team of four undergraduates from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business took home first place in this year’s Wake Forest Marketing Summit, a case competition held annually at WFU’s campus in Winston-Salem, N.C. After 10 days of preparation and two intense days of competition, the students returned triumphantly to College Park with the first place trophy and $8,000 in prize winnings.

Smith Grad Students Participate in Case Competition

Students in the five specialty master's programs at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business participated in Smith’s first MS Case Competition on Nov. 14, 2014. Cross-functional teams were formed of 4 to 5 graduate students studying in the following programs: Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Finance, Master of Science in Information Systems, Master of Science in Marketing Analytics, and Master of Science in Supply Chain.

Smith MBAs Excel in OSU-Fisher Invitational

A team of full-time, first-year MBA students from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business captured second place in the 22nd edition of the Fisher Invitational Case Competition at Ohio State University. Brendan Collins, Bini Dawit, Nadine Payne and Katie Tedrow represented Smith among 11 MBA programs. Competitors represented Big Ten Conference schools, plus programs from the University of Rochester and Washington University in St. Louis.

Smith Takes First Place at AKPsi Case Competition

From February 7-9, numerous chapters from the nation’s largest professional business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, gathered in Philadelphia, Pa.,  for the organization’s annual Principled Business Leadership Institute. The weekend offers students a chance to develop valuable business skills and network with chapters from all over the country, culminating in a case competition featuring students from the schools in attendance.
