MBA Association

The MBA Association (MBAA) serves the full-time student body of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. The MBAA is the primary interface between the student body and the administration in order to enhance the Smith MBA experience. The MBA Association coordinates 14 student-run groups.

As the MBAA, we pledge to facilitate the continued growth of the Smith community by creating an environment of open communication and opportunities for both personal and professional growth. The MBAA is responsible for the oversight of MBA student clubs, management of finances, and implementation of new and existing policies or initiatives. In addition, the MBAA plans special social events throughout the school year to foster collaboration among Smith students, faculty, administration, and alumni. Email us at smith-club-mbaa@umd.edu.

MBAA Constitution

The constitution for the MBA Association outlines the operating policies and procedures for the full-time MBA student population. It outlines the roles and responsibilities of the officers as well as the governing principles for the clubs.

Preamble

We, the members of the MBA Association, in order to improve the full-time Robert H. Smith MBA community, enhance the overall experience for its students and maximize the value of the Robert H. Smith brand, establish this Constitution of the MBA Association.

Wei-Chi (Victor) Su

President

Wei-Chi (Victor) was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and immigrated to the Bay Area when he was 10 years old. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Administration with a Marketing Concentration from Boston University. He is currently pursuing a dual degree in Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science in Marketing Analytics (MSMA) at the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to his time at Smith, Victor has experience in a variety of different industries and functions such as marketing, hospitality, human resources, and entrepreneurship. As a passionate and creative individual, he is looking to further hone his skills in critical strategy, data analytics, and innovation.

Through his leadership as the President of the MBA Association, Victor aims to create impactful student experiences and inspire everyone to be passionately and fearlessly driven to achieve their milestones.

I was a professional dancer and commercial actor in Taiwan!

Akshay Bokade

Executive Vice President

Originally from India, Akshay Bokade is a product enthusiast who began his professional journey at Godrej and Boyce Manufacturing Co. Ltd. in the research and development department. After earning his Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (University of Mumbai), he played a pivotal role in securing three patents and significantly advancing product innovation and market delivery processes.

Currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Maryland, Akshay serves as the Executive Vice President in the MBA Association. He is passionately committed to enriching the campus experience by fostering a vibrant and inclusive environment. His efforts are focused on building a dynamic community where students can thrive academically and socially, facilitating a stronger bond among the student body and enhancing the overall educational experience.

I can solve a Rubik's cube in less than 60 seconds.

Justin Morris

Vice President of Finance

Justin Morris is a Eastern Shore Maryland native who started his career in Medicare fraud as a data analyst, then transitioned to an accounting role at a full-service event ticket broker. Justin's career has been focused on mitigating risk and reducing waste for both public and private entities. He is pursuing the Finance track at the Smith School of Business, and hopes to utilize his work experience to support quality events for all full-time MBA students.

Fun Fact

I am the fourth generation in my family to attend the University of Maryland, beginning with my great grandfather who started here in 1935.

Eric Waters

Vice President of Student Affairs

Eric is a Baltimore, Maryaland native and a recent graduate of UMGC, he has served on a number of professional association boards to include his most recent role as VP of his professional military association. Eric looks forward to carrying his skills of narration, broadcasting, and storytelling to the MBA cohorts to bring light to the great efforts taking place at the Smith school, as well as the unique challenges that both international and domestic students face adapting to a full-time program.

Eric brings his widely-adapted experiences and background to combine with empathy and a little 'B-More' tough approach, to enhance the student experience for all members of the cohort(s).

~Eric is prusuing a focus in Marketing, and aspires to become a Brand Manager in Wine & Spirits, and eventually navigate into a C-Suite executive position.

Prithvi Reddy

Vice President of International Student Affairs

Prithvi is a driven professional currently pursuing a dual degree in MBA/MSBA, with a keen interest in blending business acumen with analytical insights. Hailing from South India, Prithvi brings a rich cultural perspective to their endeavors. With a background in operations and supply chain management, He is now focused on expanding his expertise in business analytics, recognizing the transformative potential of data-driven decision-making.

In his role as Vice President of International Affairs, Prithvi is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community within the MBA cohorts. Through his leadership, he aims to cultivate an environment that celebrates diversity and promotes cross-cultural understanding, enriching the academic and social experience for all involved.

Shadae Perry

Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Shadae is originally from Columbia, SC, obtained her Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Clark Atlanta University. Prior to pursuing her MBA at Smith, she gained experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and E-commerce industries. Seeking to expand her skill set in problem solving, analytics, and critical thinking. Shadae has made the decision to transition into a new career path. Her aim is to develop more robust strategies and make better informed business decision. As the VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Shadae is committed to the importance of cultivating an environment where individuals identifying as minorities or coming from diverse backgrounds can thrive and be their authentic selves without reservation. Her goal is to establish a community that goes beyond mere inclusion; it's about creating a space where every individual feels not only welcomed, but truly valued and supported by their peers and faculty and staff within the Smith MBA community to foster more allyships.

William Moreno

Vice President of Community Development and Social Value

William is a Colombian native highly interested in using data analysis to make well-informed decisions in business strategy roles. Before starting at Smith, he served as a Senior Analyst in the Customer Service Industry for six years, where he collected data and created reports to advise the Operations Area. In this role, he developed my communication skills, engagement, coaching, and team development abilities by leading up to 27 people. William is pursuing a graduate degree to learn how to provide strategic business recommendations based on data analysis and how to lead and facilitate a supportive environment for multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.

As VP of Community Development, William is committed to utilizing my skills in leadership, data analysis, problem-solving, and hard work to return value to the community, including the classroom, Smith School, UMD, and the city surrounding the University campus, to strengthen the MBA students' experience.

Fun Fact

After participating in the Cheerleading World Championship in high school, I transitioned to rugby in college and played in the county league.

Udbhav Bhargava

A marketing MBA graduate from the University of Maryland, Udbhav excels in product development and client relations. With a passion for hosting events, he assumed the role of Vice President of Signature Events, adding flair to his skill set. Tech-savvy and ready to bring humor to the table, he is all about innovation and making things happen.

I love cooking and I also like to experiment with the different types of cuisines. I also love indulging myself in adventurous activities (Next on my bucket list is sky diving).

Gaurab Raut

Gaurab Raut, a Mechanical Engineer, is passionate about the intersection of operations and supply chain with AI. With four years of hands-on experience in the oil and gas industry, he has gained valuable insights into optimizing processes and maximizing efficiency.

Currently pursuing a full-time MBA at the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business, Gaurab also serves as the Vice President of Marketing and Social Media for the MBA Association (MBAA) board. Through this role, he aims to enhance the visibility and engagement of the MBA program, both on and off campus.

Dedicated to leveraging his skills in leadership, problem-solving, and hard work, Gaurab is committed to benefiting the community.
