Getting Started as a Freshman
We are excited to welcome incoming freshmen students this fall. At the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship, we create an inclusive environment where we educate, empower and equip students with the business skills needed to be an entrepreneur and the resources necessary to make their business ideas a reality.
Here’s are three simple ways to get started:
Come say hi!
At the Dingman Center, we love meeting new student entrepreneurs. Just stop by or make an appointment to “Get to Know Dingman.” During these brief sessions, you will meet with a team member who will introduce you to our programs and explain how you can get involved.

The University of Maryland has a ton of events and resources for aspiring student entrepreneurs on campus, and this can seem overwhelming when you’re just getting started. Subscribe to The Pitch, a bi-weekly newsletter where we provide an overview of all the entrepreneurship events, programs and resources you should check out on campus and beyond.
Dingman Fridays Advising Hours
Come get feedback on your business idea from expert advisors at Dingman Fridays, every Friday of the semester from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Dingman Center (2518 Van Munching Hall). You can make an appointment or just walk in to meet with staff.
