Abhay Grover began the Smith PhD Program in Fall 2020. His primary research interest is at the intersection of public policies and operations - supply chain management, especially in the context of agri-food industry. Abhay has about 7 years of experience in different facets of manufacturing in the U.S., and India with firms like John Deere and Whirlpool Corporation. During his time in the industry, he worked closely with the suppliers on product design and development, quality compliance, field-issue resolution, recalls and product improvement programs. Prior to pursuing the PhD, he also worked at the Center for Industrial Research and Service, Iowa State University, consulting with Iowa manufacturers to help them automate their warehouse, supply chain and production operations. His research has appeared in the Journal of Supply Chain Management, Business Horizons, Journal of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis, International Journal on Food System Dynamics, and Food Control. Among others, he received the Frédéric Bastiat Fellowship Award in 2022, William E. Warner Professional Practice Award in 2020 and the Iowa State University Research Excellence Award in 2017.
