Lecturer: ENTS 630: The Economics of International Telecommunications
Joseph Augustine is from the Caribbean Island of Saint Lucia and has lectured at the college level in the USA for over 15 years. Prior to coming to the USA he was a Senior Economist at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank in Saint Kitts and Nevis His Education includes: Ph.D. Economics: University of Delaware; M.S. Economics: University of the West Indies and B.S. Agriculture (Honors): University of the West Indies.
His research interest include: International Macroeconomics: Monetary Unions, Exchange Rates, Currency Boards Benefits and costs of Exchange Rate Systems, Co- Movements of Business Cycles. and Development Economics with a focus on corruption.
He has received several awards for teaching including the “Excellence Award” from Howard University Students Association for “The Outstanding Professor of the Year (2011).” He was also recognized by the Talented Tenth and Residence Life as one of the Top Instructors at Howard University, D.C. This award was based on a random survey of 1000 students. (2005)
He is an active member of Our Lady Queen of Catholic Church in Arlington Virginia, where he serves as the lead usher for the 11:15 AM mass on Sundays. He has also served as an instructor for the Confirmation Class. He is an avid supporter of Manchester United Soccer Team.
