15 Ways to Celebrate the Smith School on Nov. 15

On Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, a new tradition begins at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, bringing together students, faculty, staff and alumni. It’s a day to celebrate us, called Smith Day!

Join us in the Smith Day celebration on Nov. 15, in-person or virtually.

1. Wear your Maryland colors – red, gold, white and black.

2. Share your Smith School pride on social media, using #UMDSmithProud.

3. Become a Smith Day Ambassador and help us reach the entire Smith community and encourage others to get involved.

4. Come to Van Munching Hall between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and join in the Smith Day festivities.

5. Celebrate with fellow Smith Terps at one of our evening regional alumni events: Washington, D.C.; Columbia, Md.; Boston, Mass.; New York City, NY; Los Angeles, Calif.; Beijing, China; Shanghai, China; Manila, Philippines.

6. Take a photo with Testudo! He’ll be hanging out in Van Munching Hall from noon to 1 p.m.

7. Send a thank you note (handwritten or electronic) to a member of the Smith Community who has made a difference in your life.

8. Take a photo showing your Smith School pride and share it on social media, using #UMDSmithProud.

9. Share your favorite Smith School memory or a throwback photo on social media, using #UMDSmithProud.

10. Use our custom SnapChat filter at Van Munching Hall!

11. Write why you’re a proud Smith Terp on our Smith Day autograph boards in Van Munching Hall and at our other campuses in Baltimore, Md., Rockville, Md., Washington, D.C., and Beijing, China.

12. Toast Smith Day with a glass of Heineken, as a nod to Leo Van Munching christening the building with a bottle of Heineken in 1993.

13. Invite your friends to participate in Smith Day through our Facebook event.

14. Be one of the first 100 people in Van Munching Hall starting at 11 a.m. and receive a special Smith Day gift!

15. Grab a giveaway sticker at any of our campus or regional events to display your school pride.
