Mayo Shattuck, Constellation Energy

Mayo Shattuck was appointed president and chief executive officer of Constellation Energy Group effective Nov. 1, 2001, and was elected chairman of the board in July 2002. Constellation Energy is a Fortune 500 company which owns energy-related businesses, including a North American wholesale power marketing and merchant generation business, and the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, an energy delivery utility serving Central Maryland. Prior to joining Constellation Energy, Shattuck held several positions with Deutsche Bank, the most notable being chairman of the board of Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown, global head of investment banking and global head of private banking.
From 1997 to 1999, Mayo Shattuck served as vice chairman of Bankers Trust Corporation, which merged with Deutsche Bank in June 1999. From 1991 to 1997, Shattuck served as president and chief operating officer, as well as a director, of Alex. Brown Inc., which merged with Bankers Trust in September 1997.
He was born in 1954 in Massachusetts, and received his BA from Williams College and his MBA from Stanford University, where he graduated as an Arjay Miller Scholar. Shattuck has received an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Mayo Shattuck currently serves as a director of Gap Inc. and is chairman of its Audit and Finance Committee. He also serves as a director of Capital One Financial Corporation and is chairman of its Compensation Committee. He sits on the Board of Edison Electric Institute (EEI) as chairman of the board of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO). Shattuck is also involved with several universities, sitting on the Board of Trustees of Johns Hopkins Medicine and acting as chairman of the Board of Visitors of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
He is married to Molly George Shattuck and has five children: Mayo IV, Katie, Spencer, Wyatt, and Lillian.
