CLIC Hosts Unconscious Bias Event, Feb. 22

The Center for Leadership, Innovation, and Change (CLIC) at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland will be co-sponsoring an engaging discussion on Unconscious Bias with several MBA student organizations including the Smith Association of Women MBAs (SAWMBA), the Black MBA Association, the Latin American MBA Student Association (LAMBASA), and the Smith Pride Alliance on Feb. 22, 2016.

The event will feature Allyson Dylan Robinson from Cook Ross, a certified women-owned firm specializing in organizational transformation and diversity and inclusion. Robinson is an award-winning expert on inclusion and cross-cultural engagement and prior to Cook Ross, led initiatives at the Human Rights Campaign and developed criteria for the Corporate Equality Index and Healthcare Equality Index.

The goal of the event is to reach a diverse audience of MBA students with strategies to understand and combat unconscious bias in the workplace. MBA students will be entering the workforce as future managers and can take active steps to be aware of and prevent unconscious bias for negatively impacting companies, employees and profits.
