It's that time of the year again -- time to start shopping for holiday gifts! Instead of heading to big department stores, support University of Maryland entrepreneurs by buying unique presents from our own student and alumni entrepreneurs. Come tomorrow to the University of Maryland Holiday Marketplace and you will:
1) Escape crazy mall crowds and cross holiday shopping off your 'to do' list
2) Get unique items and avoid the possibility of giving your sister the same sweater she is giving you
3) Support the University of Maryland entrepreneurs
4) Support food drive sponsored by the Smith Undergraduate Student Association (SUSA): 2% of all sales will be donated to this worthy cause
When: Wednesday, November 19, 11 AM – 2 PM
Where: Pownall Grand Atrium, Van Munching Hall (first floor)
University of Maryland Holiday Marketplace is a part of the Global Week of Entrepreneurship. Some of the participating companies at Wednesday's marketplace include: A Slice of Paradise, Blumpari, Crooked Monkey, Kidsinger Jim, Overwear, PolarLock, The Smith Store, and Thai Crossing. A few of the entrepreneurs showcasing their goods include: Chia Chang (jewelry), Farnaz Daryan (healthbars) and Ruth Hakulin (UM blankets, pillows, scarves, etc.)
