The Robert H. Smith School of Business, Office of Career Services hosted an Employer Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, July 22 in the nation’s capital to recognize the importance of the employer relationships that are created at the Smith School.
The dinner was held at the Old Ebbitt Grill in Washington, D.C., and had about 50 attendees which included regional employers, Smith students, staff and the dean. It was an opportunity for employers and their Smith School summer interns to share insights about their summer experiences and network with other regional employers in attendance.
Dean G. Anand Anandalingam expressed gratitude toward the employers who have developed a strong relationship with the Smith School. He also praised the students for their achievements on various projects and strategic input. The dean attributes the diligence and work ethic of Smith students as the reason employers come back each semester.
Employers in attendance included PricewaterhouseCoopers, GeniusRocket, Computer Sciences Corporation, Booz Allen, Constellation Energy Group, Legg Mason and The Calvert Group.
Moneca Surida-Clyburn, the manager of MBA Career Programs for the Office of Career Services, said the dinner was a simple but important means of valuing employers for their demonstrated commitment to the Smith school.
Smith hopes to continue to attract top employers seeking to hire the best and the brightest talent within various disciplines.
