Make the Perfect Pitch with Bill McGowan, March 1

The Center for Leadership, Innovation, and Change (CLIC) at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland will be cohosting an event on March 1, 2016, with the Smith DC/NoVa Alumni Club featuring Bill McGowan of Clarity Media Group and author of Pitch Perfect: How to Say It Right the First Time, Every Time. McGowan will be presenting a workshop on building blocks of speaking in a memorable way, which has a huge impact on how people are perceived.

Clarity Media Group is a team of seasoned journalists that provide media training, message development, presentation and speech preparation, and other communication services surrounding the art of story telling. As CEO, McGowan is a trusted advisor and media coach to clients including Eli Manning, Sheryl Sanberg, Jack Welch, Mary J. Blige, Thomas Keller, Pat Benatar, Holly Hunter, Roger Goodell, and Issac Mizrachi. He is a two-time Emmy winning journalist and has reported over 700 nationally televised stories. As an expert in public speaking, he has prepared his clients for TED talks, acceptance speeches, university commencement speeches, and corporate shareholder meetings.

Pitch Perfect: How to Say It Right the First Time, Every Time seeks to give readers tools to navigate everyday, high-stake situations where it is critical to know the right thing to say, and how to say it. McGowan shares his philosophy on the Seven Principles of Persuasion to tackle personal and professional moments.
