Advances in technology have been critical to advances in health care. But it’s crucial that health care workers know how to use the technology for it to be most effective. A new partnership among the Center for Health Information and Decision Systems, the Maryland Health Tech Coalition and Howard Community College will make sure Maryland health employees lead the sector.
In this edition of Smith Business Close-Up with the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, host Jeff Salkin sits down with Kenyon Crowley to talk about mobile technology in health care and why training workers to use it is so important.
Crowley is deputy director of the Center for Health Information and Decision Systems (CHIDS) at the Smith School. CHIDS is an academic research center with collaboration from industry and government affiliates, and is designed to research, analyze, and recommend solutions to challenges surrounding the introduction and integration of information and decision technologies into the health care system. CHIDS offers the benefit of a world-class research staff and renowned scholars in technology implementation, adoption, assimilation, decision sciences, and information technology.
