Seventy members from professional business fraternities gathered for a Center for Social Value Creation (CSVC) case competition on Oct. 30, 2024. The competition focused on social impact and experiential learning around ESG investment. Participating fraternities included Alpha Kappa PSi – Omega Theta Chapter, Phi Chi Theta – Alpha Mu Chapter, and Delta Sigma Pi – Gamma Sigma Chapter at the University of Maryland (UMD). Each team showcased innovative and engaging solutions related to ESG investing. The event was a resounding success with approximately 150 UMD students in the audience. The team from Phi Chi Theta – Alpha Mu Chapter was the winning team with Madelyn Lee ʼ27, Sophia Stein ʼ27, Kevin Jones ʼ26, Samuel Alexander ʼ27, Nour Farah ʼ27 and Huai Dim ʼ27 representing the fraternity.
The event was organized by CSVC team members and led by Keola Evans ʼ26. Smith alumni Julia Giglio ʼ22, MSSCM ʼ23, Yasmin Molkara ʼ22, and Jane Azzinaro ʼ12 along with Ishita Mukharya, MBA ʼ25 and Tanvi Murumkar, MSBA ʼ24 served as judges for the event.
