Smith MBAs Attend National Society of Hispanic MBAs Conference and Career Expo

Eleven Smith students joined over 7,000 attendees at the 18th Annual National Society of Hispanic MBAs (HSHMBA) Conference and Career Expo in Houston, Oct. 4-6, 2007. Students networked with representatives from over 300 organizations, received career search advice and explored internship and full-time job opportunities.

There were so many opportunities for students and professionals, said first-year MBA student Jorge Diaz. Im glad I was able to go. I would definitely encourage others to attend.

The conference offered several professional networking sessions for attendees to mingle with organization representatives and students. Smith students were able to make connections with potential employers in these more relaxed settings.

I talked to great students and employers at the receptions, said first-year MBA student Liz Rhodes. It was a great experience.

Attendees were able to focus on companies in select industries, ranging from high-technology corporations to government organizations. Major conference sponsors included: Hewlett-Packard, American Express, Bank of America, Dell, General Mills, Exxon Mobil, Limited Brands, Procter & Gamble, Target, and Waste Management.

The next NSHMBA conference and career expo is Oct. 9-11, 2008 in Atlanta, Ga. For highlights on this years NSHMBA event, visit: http://www.nshmba.org/conference/
