Smith School Launches Four New Executive Degree Programs

With academic programs on four continents (North America, Asia, Africa, Europe), campuses at four locations in the U.S. (College Park, Rockville/Shady Grove and Baltimore, Md., and Washington, D.C), it's only fitting that Smith should be launching four new academic programs. The Evening Executive MBA, the Executive MS in Accounting, the MS in Business with a focus in Information Systems and Technology, and a customized MBA program with SAIC are all new executive degree programs from the Smith School.

Evening Executive MBAThe first cohort of Smith's latest executive degree program got underway in July in College Park. The new Evening Executive MBA program includes some features of the Executive MBA program, but is designed for a different audience and uses a different curricular structure. Participants are able to complete the full 54 credit graduate program in two years, with the first year focused on required core courses and the second year open to a selection of electives at Smith locations around the world. In response to the needs of both the business community and potential students, the Smith School continues to innovate and expand its executive program offerings. The Evening Executive MBA program is a perfect example of the Smith School's commitment to the needs of our customers.

Executive MS in Accounting Approximately 40 students will start in Smith's new Executive Master of Science in Accounting program on September 9. The program is expressly designed for individuals employed by public accounting firms and internal audit departments of public and non-public corporations, non-profit organizations, and government departments and agencies.

MS in Business - Focus in Information Systems & Technology (Tunis)Drawing students from Tunisia and southern Europe, the new MS in Business with a focus in Information Systems and Technology is jointly developed between the Smith School and the Mediterranean School of Business (MSB) of the South Mediterranean University. The 10-month, part-time (30 credits) program targets aspiring and practicing managers from a variety of industries and functional areas including finance, marketing, human resources, and information systems. The program meets the needs of individuals interested in moving their career forward through business management or management of information technology. The curriculum provides a solid base in core business principles, and emphasis on the convergence of technology, globalization, and entrepreneurship. The program will start on September 13 at the MSB campus in Tunis, Tunisia. > September 2006 Launch
