College Park, Md. – February 26, 2010 — The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business ranked No. 7 for research productivity among U.S. and foreign business schools, according to a study released yesterday by the University of Texas at Dallas School of Management.

Smith School of Business. “Our faculty, with our top research centers, are tackling real-world business problems and answering tough questions. Not only do they translate this work to their teaching, but their research findings also greatly impact how leaders and organizations operate.”
This is the fifth consecutive year the Smith School has ranked in the top 10 worldwide for research productivity by the UT Dallas study. The Smith School earned a ranking of No. 14 for research in the world by Financial Times in the 2010 MBA rankings, and was recognized as No. 3 in the U.S. for intellectual capital – the number of faculty articles published in the top 30 academic journals -- by the most recent BusinessWeek ranking in 2008.
The UT Dallas Top 100 Business School Research Rankings names the top 100 business schools worldwide based on faculty research productivity in leading academic journals over a five-year period. The current rankings are based on the number of articles published in the 24 leading peer-reviewed academic journals from 2005-2009.
