
The Bretton Woods Committee (BWC), the preeminent non-profit organization dedicated to effective global economic and financial cooperation, has invited and accepted Smith’s Lemma W. Senbet’s membership.
Senbet, Dean’s Chaired Professor at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, joins a committee composed of leaders in business, finance, academic and non-profit sectors, including industry CEOs, as well as former presidents, cabinet-level officials and lawmakers.
The committee, an independent, non-partisan advocate for key multilateral institutions—to help inform public officials that global economic prosperity is best served through effective multilateralism. BWC further works to improve the performance of international financial institutions through public dialogue, advocacy and policy analysis.
Senbet in 2022 was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of International Business for his career-long distinguished scholarship and professional service at the interface of finance and international business. The selection further recognized Senbet as a distinguished scholar in interdisciplinary research that spans international finance, corporate finance, finance for development, as well as economic policy research and outreach, involving particularly Africa.
