The undergraduate business program at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business is ranked among the nations top business schools by U.S. News & World Report in its America's Best Colleges 2005 report, released Friday, August 20. The Smith School, which is ranked #20 overall, also earned top-20 rankings in six specialty categories.
These top specialty rankings are:

- #8 Supply Chain Management/Logistics
- #12 Entrepreneurship
- #13 Management
- #15 Production/Operations Management
- #18 Finance
The U.S. News rankings are based on a survey of deans and senior faculty at undergraduate business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The rankings are based solely on this survey. Of those who were invited to participate, 46 percent responded. The complete Americas Best Colleges 2005 rankings can be found online. "We're pleased to see the Smith School once again recognized as having the very best undergraduate business program in the Washington, D.C./Baltimore region", said Howard Frank, dean of the Smith School. The schools top marks in six specialty areas further illustrate Smiths strengths, and these rankings place us among an elite group of business schools nationwide.
