A weekly time to come together and share in some positive community energies. Sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes but typically start on time and last about 10 to 25 minutes. Please arrive on time. A prompt will be given by the facilitator (e.g. draw something that makes you happy today and share; tell us about a favorite class you have taken as a student; write a poem about queerness; etc.) and you have the opportunity to respond to the prompt if you want to, or just to share in the space together.

In order to help our faculty and staff stay mentally well and respond to the mental health needs of our students, the Counseling Center will be offering workshops exclusively for UMD faculty and staff throughout the fall semester.

This workshop will address common student mental health concerns, ways to communicate about mental health with students, available mental health resources (including the Counseling Center) and how to refer to them, and methods of coping for everyone involved.

The LGBT Equity Center will collaborate with the Department of Resident Life to provide an LGBTQ+ Affinity Space. This is a great way to connect with staff and peers before the semester starts up. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. We just want to get to know you!
