10 Startups Accepted to the Dingman Center’s 2018 Terp Startup Cohort
The Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship is pleased to announce that it has accepted 10 startups into its Terp Startup summer incubator program. Launched in 2015, Terp Startup is the final phase of the center's Fearless Founders accelerator. To be considered for the Terp Startup program, students undergo a rigorous application process in which they must demonstrate their startup's traction as well as their own entrepreneurial drive.

He turned a part-time job on Capitol Hill into something more after graduation, and soon he was running a growing partnership with NeXT, a high-tech startup founded by Steve Jobs. “We grew a very little team — a lot of Maryland guys — into a decent team,” Fernandez said on April 18, 2018, during the Robert G. Dingman Partners with National Assoc. of Broadcasters on Startup Competition

Symbiont Health Wins UMD Pitch Dingman Competition, Chaired by Robert Hisaoka
College Park, Md. – March 7, 2018 – Symbiont Health (Emergency Detection Systems, LLC), maker of innovative technology to detect falls for seniors and nursing home patients, took home the $15,000 grand prize at yesterday’s Pitch Dingman Competition, the University of Maryland’s business competition chaired by businessman and philanthropist Robert G. Hisaoka. The competition awarded nearly $30,000 in seed funding to top student entrepreneurs in a “Shark Tank”-style pitch session, hosted by the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship at the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
