Smith School Students Start Semester and Launch Careers at 2023 Career Events
Palpable optimism and endless opportunity filled the halls of the College Park Marriott Conference Center as undergraduate and graduate students participated in career events at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. Hosted by Smith’s Office of Career Services as a two-day affair, the Smith School’s Undergraduate Career Fair and Graduate Career Expo united students, alumni and industry professionals under one roof where they explored employment opportunities and jump-started careers.
Undergrads Connect with 127 Employers
PepsiCo, Under Armour and the Big Four accounting firms joined newcomers like Comcast NBCUniversal and M&T Bank at the fall 2019 Undergraduate Career Fair hosted by the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. Overall, 127 employers from all sectors and industries connected with more than 1,200 Maryland Smith students on Sept. 20, 2019, at the Xfinity Center in College Park, Md.

Undergraduate students had an extra source of intelligence at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business fall career fair on Sept. 15, 2017. A customized smartphone app allowed participants to track their favorite employers, read about job and internship opportunities, find specific booths on a map and engage in social media.
Smith Freshmen Start Early at Career Fair
On Sept. 23, 2016, first-year business students got a head start at the Smith Undergraduate Career Fair, hosted by the Office of Career Services at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. The first hour of the event was reserved for freshmen to explore companies’ booths and meet recruiters before the upperclassmen arrived at the Xfinity Center in College Park, Md. “This gives me great exposure,” said Sabrina Somar, a Smith School freshman from New Jersey. “I can make connections early on, so next year I’m more prepared.”
