Maryland Smith To Host ‘Being Black’ Speaker Series
The Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland will celebrate Black History Month 2019 with a series of events featuring African American business leaders and entrepreneurs. Each week in February, Victor Mullins, Maryland Smith’s associate dean of undergraduate programs and Chief Diversity Officer, will sit down with featured guests to talk about their career paths, the challenges they’ve faced and their advice on making it in the business world.

Smith School of Business, Jennifer Lee-Harrison, EMBA '11, held numerous consulting jobs, rose to a senior director position, collaborated with Steve Harvey, and contributed to a successful strategic marketing plan. Yet she still asked herself: “What do I want to be when I grow up?”
An Evening with Smith’s Monument Maker, Lisa Anders, MBA '95
Building the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and then the National Museum of African American History and Culture changes a person. Lisa Anders, an MBA graduate at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, led both projects and will discuss her experiences at a Black History Month celebration 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 8, 2017, at the campus’ Riggs Alumni Center.
