Maryland Smith’s master’s and MBA programs continue to rank among the best in the world, with alumni outcomes ranking particularly high, according to the 2021 rankings from global higher education and business education analyst QA Quacquarelli Symonds. The latest report from QS includes a new addition to its series of specialized business master’s degrees rankings – for the first time assessing the world’s master’s in supply chain management programs.

Maryland Smith Welcomes New Students for Fall 2020

Maryland Smith welcomed new students to school for the fall 2020 semester with a full lineup of orientation activities, held virtually via Zoom this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. All orientation programs offered an introduction to Smith School leaders and the Smith community. They also highlighted Smith’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Promise, the school’s pledge to engage in critical conversations to make everyone feel represented, heard and included at Maryland Smith.

Maryland Smith Welcomes UMD President Pines

Darryll J. Pines officially takes the helm of the state of Maryland’s flagship university on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, becoming the 34th president of the University of Maryland, College Park, and continuing a career of leadership and excellence. At the Robert H. Smith School of Business, his appointment to the university’s top job, back in February 2020, was met with cheers. Understandably – Pines previously served as dean of the A. James Clark School of Engineering, and the Smith School and the Clark School have a long, strong history of partnership.
