October's CARE in Conversation will focus on online relationships, specifically navigating the dynamics of online dating apps. We will explore healthy/unhealthy interactions, red flags, as well as digital consent and communication. This will be our first IN-PERSON CARE in Conversation and we are so excited to engage in student-driven dialogue on issues related to power-based violence! If you can only join us for part of the time, feel free to drop in. All are welcome!

In light of recent events regarding sexual assault allegations on campus, the Student Government Association will be hosting the “Reclaim the Red: Rally for Respect” on October 8 from 1-3 p.m.

This rally is in support of sexual assault survivors and to hold the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life (DFSL) and the Intra-fraternity council (IFC) accountable for their roles in preventing sexual assault. The rally will begin at the Administration Building and end at Fraternity Row. Make sure to wear red!

Please note this event will be monitored by police.

During Mental Health Awareness week (October 4-8), we would like to center those who wish to process the impact of bias on individuals and communities. Whether you have been directly harmed or have witnessed others being hurt by harmful speech and actions, we hold you with compassion and care.

The Circle sessions will never be recorded as we provide centering and support in this sacred space.

The Latinx Connect virtual conference from the University of Pittsburgh aims to move us beyond “celebrating” Latinxs during Hispanic Heritage Month and instead calls for critical conversations about identity, advocacy, activism, empowerment, and justice for the Latinx community, which faces numerous disparities in U.S. society, particularly at the intersections of Latinx identity (e.g. Afro-Latinxs, Indigenous Latinx, queer and Trans* Latinxs, undocumented Latinxs).
