It may still feel like the middle of summer, but orientation events are already underway at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business for the 2016-17 school year. Full-time MBA students will take part in a two-week orientation that begins on Aug. 8. International MBA students are already here at Smith to kick-of their program. Students in the specialty masters programs start their one-week orientation on Aug. 12. New part-time MBA students will be at Van Munching Hall for orientation on Aug. 13.

CIBER Awards Two PhD Grants to UMD Candidates

The Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business awarded two PhD candidates with $4,000 each to support their research. CIBER Director Kislaya Prasad presented Yang Pan and Lanfei Shi, both PhD candidates in information systems, with the awards at a ceremony on May 11, 2016.

Congrats to UMD Smith Class of 2016!

On May 20, 2016, 1,200 students graduated from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business with bachelors’, masters’ and doctoral degrees. The commencement ceremonies were held at the Xfinity Center on the university’s College Park campus. Graduate Ceremony At the graduate ceremony, Tiffany Watson performed the National Anthem and Scott Graham delivered the student address.
