July 29, 2017 - The sun peeked out of the clouds, heralding the end of a long, heavy rain just as Executive MBA graduates from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business marked the culmination of a challenging, transformative journey. During his commencement address, Associate Dean Mike Faulkender pointed out what an enriching experience this was, not only for the EMBA graduates, but for faculty as well.

Graduation day was July 23, 2016, for 43 executives at the Riggs Alumni Center, supported by more than 300 friends, family, faculty, and staff. Dean Alex Triantis congratulated the graduates on completing the rigorous 19-month journey, culminating with a celebration of the fifteenth Executive MBA cohort at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.

On July 23, 2015, 37 executives from EMBA Cohort 14 graduated from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, in a ceremony attended by more than 300 family, friends, faculty and staff of the Smith School at the university’s Riggs Alumni Center. Executive MBA degrees at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business rank among the best worldwide, according to a Financial Times report published Oct. 20, 2014. The Executive MBA program, which caters to working professionals with significant management experience, ranked No. 11 among U.S.-based institutions and No. 44 globally. Both rankings represent growth since 2012, when the Smith School placed 13 and 51 in the same categories.

On July 24, 2014, 41 executives from EMBA Cohort 13 graduated from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, in a ceremony attended by more than 300 family, friends and faculty and staff of the Smith School at the university’s Riggs Alumni Center.

Though it’s been in existence less than a decade, the Smith School’s executive MBA program has quickly gained ground as a top-ranked program in the U.S. With the recent U.S. News & World ranking placing the program at No. 23 in the nation, the Smith EMBA now has secured a top-25 recognition by all the major outlets that rank executive programs – the only program in the Washington region with that achievement.
