Course Description

Sustainability has increasingly become a critical focus for organizations worldwide, affecting every aspect of society and the economy. While this focus presents systemic challenges, it also offers significant opportunities for companies to differentiate themselves through strategic sustainability initiatives. Given that sustainability encompasses a wide range of factors, including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations, companies must craft innovative strategies to address these evolving demands.

UMD’s Executive Education training course in Sustainability is designed to equip executives with the knowledge and skills they need to: understand the latest sustainability practices and models, assess the strengths and weaknesses of various sustainability frameworks, translate these frameworks into actionable business strategies, and stay abreast of potential industry and regulatory developments in the sustainability space.

This course leverages the expertise of UMD’s leading institutions, the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences and the Robert H. Smith School of Business, to deliver cutting-edge sustainability knowledge to business leaders.

No prerequisites are required for this course.

Structure:

The course is online and fully self-paced, with an estimated completion time of 20-30 hours across four modules. It includes video lessons, readings, knowledge checks, and interactive discussion boards. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion and are eligible for 2.2 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
