Roy Thomason worked for over 20 years in the corporate hospitality industry as a multi-unit senior leader for start-up concepts, publicly traded, privately held, and tribally owned organizations. His experiences vary greatly from full service, quick service, casual theme, casino resort, racetracks, golf courses, and academic dining services. Roy has worked in operations, design, and human resources within the hospitality industry.

Roy’s industry experiences include designing restaurants, developing proformas, creating logos, facilitating corporate learning courses, designing educational classes for corporate leaders, developing accounting principles, point of sale programming, developing inventory control systems, building team development exercises, simulation training, audit standards, sequence of service principles, and development of policies and procedures for organizations. Roy has supervised over 800 employees and has been responsible for revenues in excess of $22 million as well as second-level profit and loss statements. He has mentored and developed unit, district, and regional leaders in various environments. He holds numerous certifications within the hospitality industry as a proctor and instructor.  

He has had the pleasure of teaching at the Robert H. Smith School of Business within the Management and Organization department. Roy’s focus is related to strategy, leadership, teamwork, and experiential learning opportunities. Roy has partnered with various corporations to provide projects for undergraduate as well as graduate students for consulting purposes. Over the years, Roy has worked with FrontierView, Marriott International, Southwest Airlines, Medtronic, Garmont, Fantic Motors, Expo 2020 Dubai, The New Zealand Story Group, United States Chamber of Commerce, USDA, ScanCom, Nas Academy, DB Holding Group, Nikola, Beyond Our Shores Foundation, Restorative Therapies, and The Toy Association.

He has been a featured speaker for the National Indian Gaming Association Trade Show and Annual Convention as well as the Carlisle Food Service Products International Sales Conference. He has been a board member of various educational programs and is currently serving as the president of the board for a non-profit organization in Nepal.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Administration from Central Missouri State University and an Executive Masters of Hospitality Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Roy is working towards a Doctor of Philosophy from the Lancaster Bible College, Capital Seminary, and Graduate School in Leadership.

He is married with two wonderful children. His life is more purpose-driven, and he strives to serve others with an enthusiastic passion.
