Smith Professor Joins Advisory Board of Asia Silicon Valley Connection

Anil K. Gupta, Ralph J. Tyser Professor of Strategy and Organization and research director of the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship as well as the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER), has accepted an invitation to join the Advisory Board of Asia Silicon Valley Connection (ASVC), one of the two largest networking organizations based in Silicon Valley (San Mateo, CA).

"ASVC is dedicated to nurturing entrepreneurs and new high technology ventures that leverage the U.S.-Asia connection," says Gupta. "I am honored to join the Advisory Board, as it includes top VCs and entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley."

ASVC was created as a forum for understanding and networking between Silicon Valley and Asia. The world has tremendous interest in Silicon Valley because of its success in the technology sector and wealth creation. The Valley is viewed as the model of the new economy, and also a center of strong Asian influence. One third of the Valley's CEOs and more than half of its technical workforce are of Asian descent. Many of these senior executives are first generation immigrants who are respected on both sides of the shores. Although they live and work in Silicon Valley, most still have strong ties to Asia. This plus the large population of Asian tech workers in Silicon Valley are creating a natural link to the East.

ASVC recruits Advisory Board Members who share their vision in adding value to the dynamically changing technology business landscape in Silicon Valley and Asia. ASVC differentiates itself from other organizations by the cross-industry and cross-regional diversity of its community and the support of a strong, growing network of entrepreneurs, VCs, professional service partners, and industry luminaries. ASVC Advisory Board Members are a highly select group of industry luminaries.
