Smith School Launches New Website

The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business launched a new website at the start of the fall 2013 semester. The school partnered with VisionPoint Marketing, an online marketing firm based in Raleigh, N.C., that specializes in the development of higher education websites.

Smith Welcomes MS Students

About 500 new students participated in orientation from Aug. 19 to 27 for the Robert H. Smith School of Business’ Master of Science in Business program. Activities took place on main campus, as well as the Smith centers at Shady Grove and the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C.   The Dean’s Office welcomed the students with remarks from newly-appointed Dean Alex Triantis, Interim Dean Michael Ball and Vice Dean Joyce Russell. 

MBA Orientation 2013

The Robert H. Smith School of business proudly welcomed its newest class of full-time MBA students during a 7-day orientation at the end of August 2013. The Class of 2015 has 105 students who came together to meet each other, second-year MBAs, faculty and staff before starting their journey for their MBA. They were welcomed by Dean Alex Triantis, Vice Dean Joyce Russell, Associate Dean Ken White and many more members of the Smith community during their orientation.

Smith Announces New Dean: Alex Triantis

College Park, Md. – August 12, 2013 – The University of Maryland has appointed Alexander J. Triantis as dean of the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Triantis has been with the Smith School for 17 years and is currently a professor of finance. He succeeds G. “Anand” Anandalingam and assumes his new role Sept. 1, 2013.

Three-Year Tuition Freeze for Smith MBAs

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Bucking a national trend, MBA tuition will not increase for a third consecutive year at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. Annual tuition -- $38,475 in-state and $45,765 out-of-state -- holds steady entering 2013-2014 for about 850 returning full- and part-time MBA students at Smith. The school’s MBA program is ranked among the top in the nation, placing No. 24 in the most recent rankings by both Bloomberg Businessweek and theFinancial Times.

Smith Strengths Highlighted in Economist EMBA Rankings

Already highly ranked by the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg Businessweek, the executive MBA program at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business is 26th in the Economist's inaugural EMBA world rankings. Among U.S. programs, the Smith School is 13th.
