As courses convene for the new academic year, the Smith School is welcoming eight new scholars to its faculty.
Sean Cao is joining the accounting department as an associate professor. Cao received a PhD from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Jason Choi is joining the marketing department as an assistant professor. Choi has a PhD from Columbia University and his research interests include competitive marketing strategy, digital marketing, and data privacy.
Alex Estes is joining the decision, operations and information technologies department as an assistant professor. Estes earned a PhD from the University of Maryland and his research focuses on the theory and application of optimization and in the intersections between optimization and data science.
Nima Farshchi is joining the management and organization department as a lecturer. Farshchi is also the Executive Director of the Smith School Center for Social Value Creation and has an MBA from the University of Maryland.
Shrihari Santosh is joining the finance department as an associate professor. Santosh received a PhD from the University of Chicago.
Sheetal Singh is joining the management and organization department as an Associate Clinical Professor. Singh received a PhD from the University of Maryland and her research focuses on leadership, emotion and burnout.
Roy Thomason is also joining the management and organization department as a lecturer. Thomason is working on a PhD at Lancaster Bible College.
Wen Wang is joining the decision, operations and information technologies department as an assistant professor. Wang earned a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University and her research interests lie in using innovative and interpretable deep learning and Al algorithms to improve business decisions & social welfare.
