Smith Equity Research
Smith Equity Research (SER) is a new initiative created in Fall 2023 and run by the Office of Experiential Learning. The program was created to provide students with a more hands-on approach to understanding finance and different industries from a financial perspective. Utilizing the Bloomberg terminal rooms present at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, students research a specific company or index for one semester, compiling all of their research into a final report.

SER launched in Fall 2023 and will have recurring iterations in the coming terms.

You can use this experience to learn more about finance, how to use the Bloomberg terminals, have your research published, and elevate yourself in professional interviews to stand out from the rest of the crowd.
You will have to come to an hour meeting each week and you are expected to put in around an hour of your own time each week to develop your research.
