Our Faculty Is Name-Brand

Did you know that two Smith professors who teach in the MFin program have prominent financial models named after them? Pete Kyle, one of the foremost financial economists of our time, is the namesake of the Kyle Model, which provides a foundation for the modern theory of market microstructure. The Heston Model is named after Steve Heston, and it describes the evolution of the volatility of an underlying asset.

Asset Management

Manage a company or individual’s investments and financial portfolio. Future career roles often include investment banking and financial advising.

Climate Finance

Understand, quantify and manage the financial impacts connected to climate change. You will develop climate risk models, learn how to valuate assets factoring in climate-related risks and work closely with sponsors to solve a climate-related financial challenge.

Corporate Finance and Risk Management

Examine a company’s financial picture and learn how to identify, manage and mitigate risk to a company’s earnings. Future career roles often include risk and research analysis and financial consulting.
