Kim Rice DeGross, University of Maryland alumna, has been appointed Assistant Dean of the Office of Career Services at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. She will focus on expanding employer partnerships to enhance career opportunities for Smith students.

C.J. Morgenweck, Online MBA ’22, built on his U.S. Marine Corps experience to enter the business world, guided by the Online MBA program and Career Services. Their support helped him secure roles at Thermo Fisher and North Rock Consulting through key connections and resources.

The Office of Career Services (OCS) launched new LinkedIn initiatives, like “Alumni Spotlights” and “Terp Tip Thursday,” to foster connections between Smith alumni and students, increasing LinkedIn followers and engagement significantly during the 2023-24 academic year.

Developing a career outreach strategy was something the Smith Office of Career Services (OCS) saw as a need for students. So they wanted to source one of the school’s greatest resources to help students get comfortable with this important step in career prep: Smith alumni.

In its fourth year, Career Week 2024 boasted 2,600 registrants and 1,300 attendees. With 25 diverse in-person and virtual sessions, alumni engaged in professional development and networking opportunities. Organized by the Alumni Association, this collaboration featured 11 strategic partners, including the Smith School’s Office of Alumni Relations.
