College Park, MD July 18, 2007 - The University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business today announced that Anand Anandalingam, Ralph J. Tyser Professor of Management Sciences, has been appointed as the school's senior associate dean.

The University of Maryland community is mourning the loss of Mike Corvino, president of JanSport and a valued member of the Board of Visitors at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Corvino was killed in a car accident on Saturday, July 14, 2007. As a board member, Corvino was very involved and enthusiastic about his consultative role with the school.
Lawrence A. Gordon, Ernst & Young Alumni Professor of Managerial Accounting, and Martin Loeb, professor of accounting and information assurance and Deloitte & Touche Faculty Fellow, are pioneers in the economics and financial management of cybersecurity resources.
Each year, more than a hundred Smith MBA and Executive MBA students travel around the world on short-term study abroad courses. Courses are typically offered between semesters and are comprised of 20-35 students led by a faculty guide. Students meet in College Park prior to departure and the trips typically consist of 10 days abroad.
